Whew – so we have a CFL season after all! Seriously – can you believe they were actually going to strike?

That would have been the most pointless action ever, but thankfully it didn’t happen and the CFL season will kick off on June 26th, 2014.

We have 4 games of course for Week 1 of the 2014 season. We have:

Thursday, June 26th: Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Saturday, June 28th: Montreal Alouettes vs Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Eskimos vs B.C. Lions
Sunday, June 29th: Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs Saskatchewan Roughriders

Fans looking to see the REDBLACKS in action will have to wait until Week 2, when they visit Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers. They actually don’t play at home until Week 4 against the Toronto Argonauts.

Throughout the course of the season, we will be providing tips each week on each game. Usually we will have a separate post for each game, however we’re a little tight for time the first couple of weeks. We’re busy launching another website, have the World Cup Tips site going, and are busy with a few other things.

So for the first 2-3 weeks of the season, all tips will be shorter and within one post. Don’t worry the research and work put in is the same – we’re just a tad busy and it’s easier, a lot easier, to write 100-200 words!

As always – for betting the CFL, place your bets at for the best odds and promotions.

Let’s get to the games and the betting tips for Week 1 of the CFL 2014 season:

Argonauts vs Blue Bombers Betting Tips

The Toronto Argonauts are the favourites to win the East, and they’re going up against the Blue Bombers who are expected to be sitting bottom, or close to it at the end of the season. Despite that, there is a nice line of -5 points on the Argonauts. Their offense has been firing on all cylinders in the pre-season, while Winnipeg looked shaky. They DID manage to keep their pre-season games against the Argos and Stampeders tight to their credit – but they looked leaky in defense.

We’re going to go with Argonauts -5 at .

Alouettes vs Stampeders Betting Tips

This will be the game everyone wants to see – as Chad Ochocinco steps to the field for the Alouettes. Of course the wide reciever is now known just as Chad Johnson – but c’mon; it’s Ochocinco!

It’s hard to see by the Stampeders, however the +7.5 spread is putting us off. We are going to go with Over 54 points in this one, available at .

Eskimos vs Lions Betting Tips

The Lions are highly favoured to win the Grey Cup as per usual, and they go into this game against the Eskimos giving up a touchdown with a -7 point spread. In pre-season, the Lions beat the Eskimos 14-11 with what was essentially their backup team against most of the Eskimos starters.

Take Lions -7 at .

Tiger-Cats vs Roughriders Betting Tips

Honestly, the Roughriders offense looks depleted lacking the likes of Sheets, Dressler and Simon. I don’t think we will see a repeat of last season or anywhere close to it. MAYBE if they find their groove.

Consider the Tiger-Cats moneyline at 2.90 odds, and at the very least go with Tiger-Cats +5 at .
