All season, I’ve been ragging on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. From the pre-season I talked about not believing the hype. Our insider CFL Linesmaker had told us that the Roughriders was where the money was going in the pre-season. I mostly believed it was because they were the hosts of the Grey Cup, and it was a tradition – throw your money on whoever is hosting the Grey Cup with absolutely no thought process to it.
Boy, was I wrong.
The Roughriders went on a strong run at the start of the season. But after their 42-27 loss against Calgary, their first loss of the season, I was awaiting their demise. Instead they came out and put in a thriller, as they defeated the Alouettes 24-21 in an insanely tight game. The Roughriders made a great comeback, and showed they have what it takes to win games like these. The type of games which you need to win, if you’re going to be winning the Grey Cup.
Hats off to the Roughriders.
And this week, they’re taking on the Edmonton Eskimos in Edmonton. The Argonauts defeated the Eskimos 36-33 last week to continue a run of 3 straight close defeats for Edmonton. They just can’t wrap a game up, and that’s why they’re currently sitting bottom of the West, with 3 out 3 home losses, and the 2nd worst record in the CFL next to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
It’s not going to get any easier against the Roughriders. Let’s check out the betting odds before we do some Roughriders vs Eskimos Betting Tips:
Roughriders vs Eskimos Betting Odds:
Point Spread: Roughriders -4.5 vs Eskimos +4.5.
Over/Under: 52.5 points.
An interesting point spread. Roughriders are the expected favourites, however the sportsbooks are expecting it to be a tight game. We talked to our CFL Linesmaker who said most of the money is going on the Roughriders -4.5 and the Under 52.5 points.
I’m going to be betting the Saskatchewan Roughriders -4.5, odds available at .
Why? Let’s get into that….
Roughriders vs Eskimos Betting Odds:
As I said at the beginning – I’m finally coming to terms with the fact that the Saskatchewan Roughriders are the real deal. Their victory over Montreal last week proves that.
The current best team in the CFL and best team in the West going up against the worst team in the West, and we’re only giving up 4.5 points? Sign me up!
Saskatchewan beat the Argos by 11 on the road. They beat the Tiger-Cats by 12. And of course they beat the Eskimos by 21 points back in Week 1.
This is an easy game for Saskatchewan. They’re going into this knowing the BC Lions already lost. There’s a good chance Calgary will lose against Toronto(this article is being written prior to that game). Based on that, they have a tremendous chance at really moving up in the West and opening up a 4 point gap on the Stampeders, and a 6 point gap on the Lions.
With back to back games against the Blue Bombers next, Saskatchewan know this is the perfect chance to really move up in the West. They’ll start it here. Trust me.
